Kids Garden Kinder for toddlers is held every Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., and children are immersed in an English environment through picture books, songs, crafts and other activities, cooking, and more. The lessons are taught by a native English-speaking foreign teacher and a Japanese teacher in a pair-teaching style.

Hands-on activities that maximize the use of the five senses are the main attraction of this program. The lessons are based on a monthly theme.
Seasons When the theme is seasons, we read a picture book depicting the 12 months of the year and build vocabulary from the items depicted in the book. For example, in February, after reading a picture book about kite flying, the class made kites. We took the kites we had drawn and went to the park to enjoy flying them together. It was a cold day, so after returning home, we made hot chocolate and drank it to warm up. When the theme was numbers, we enjoyed saying hop scotch KenKenPa with numbers in the classroom. We also used newspaper and tape to make three-dimensional numbers. As you can see, the lessons are not just about what is on the table, but about learning English through hands-on, physical activities.

One of the fun things we do between lessons is outside play time. Just as our friends at Kids International School are playing outside, we go outside and play with them. The children quickly become friends and play with each other, including monkey bar and cloud ladder. Of course, we use all English at that time as well. The teachers always speak to the children in easy-to-understand English to nurture their English brains. We do not force the children to speak English, but we try to make the lessons so that English will come out of their mouths naturally. Familiarity with the sounds of English from an early age is the foundation for good listening comprehension and pronunciation when they grow up. Our teachers also enjoy teaching so that students can have fun in their lessons every week. It makes me happy to hear them say Hello and Good Bye with a smile.
