KEC Parents’ Voice : Kids’ Garden

I wanted my child to learn English through everyday activities, so I decided to send her to KEC because in addition to regular lessons, KEC offers classes in English for activities such as cooking and science. She seems to particularly enjoy the activities. She has learned English about crafts, pressed flower making, seasonal events, etc., and talks about them at home using the vocabulary she has learned. When she sees a crescent moon, she tells me that it is a “crescent moon,” and when she makes a “banana boat” at home, we have simple conversations in English. I feel that they are gradually acquiring what they have learned in the classroom.

I have had a variety of English education since I was an infant, but I started attending KEC in grade 1 after hearing about it from a friend who has attended KEC for a long time. All the teachers are kind and there are many opportunities to talk with them, and the class atmosphere is very congenial. After I went to a presentation contest to support the students, I had a strong yearning to participate in the contest. I read picture books, thought about gestures, and practiced on my own. I want to do my best in English to make my dream come true! I want to continue KEC for a long time! I am looking forward to watching his progress at KEC in the future.

Having both parents struggled to learn English, I wanted my son to be exposed to English from an early age and enrolled him in KEC from his senior year, hoping that he would be able to learn live English at KEC. My son enjoys the active learning style of the classes taught by the lively foreign and Japanese teachers. We use the Can Do Reports that he receives twice a year to check his current level and to set goals for the future. Thanks to his enthusiastic guidance on pronunciation and intonation, he was able to win a prize in a presentation contest he participated in last year, which gave him a great deal of confidence and I am grateful for that.

I started attending “Let’s Play in English” for preschoolers, and have been attending Saturday class from kindergarten until the summer of my 3rd grade elementary school year, and KG class since the fall of my 3rd grade elementary school year. I felt that she was attending the class because English was fun, but since moving to the KG class, I have seen a slight change. In the third grade, she said she wanted to participate in a speech contest for the first time after hearing a speech given by a child in an older grade! and was able to participate for the first time in grade 4. KEC seems to be a good fit for my daughter, as she can learn English while having fun in a small group, with other grades, and with teachers who are very enthusiastic. She also enjoys attending the summer camp and Halloween camp every year with friends she met at KEC. Her current dream is to become an interpreter, and she would like to try a home stay next year.
