Preschool teacher
Make a difference in children’s lives through English.
We are looking for a passionate and caring Early Childhood Educator to join our team from April 2027.
This is more than an English teaching position. You will have the opportunity to support young children’s development during their formative years while creating a fun and engaging English-speaking environment.
You will work closely with a Japanese teaching partner and take an active role in children’s daily learning, play, creativity, and development.
Main Responsibilities
- Teach and support children in an English immersion preschool environment.
- Plan and conduct age-appropriate, play-based activities.
- Support children’s language, social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Create a warm, safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Encourage children’s curiosity, independence, communication, and self-expression.
- Observe children’s development and prepare developmental reports.
- Develop and prepare lesson plans, curriculum activities, and educational materials.
- Work closely with Japanese teachers and other staff as part of a teaching team.
- Participate in staff meetings, planning, school events, and other school activities.
Qualifications Required
- Native English speaker.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS or equivalent), preferably in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Professional qualification or certification in Early Childhood Education/Education.
- Previous teaching experience with young children
- Genuine interest in working with young children.
- Ability to create a child-centered and positive learning environment.
- Good classroom organization and management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with colleagues.
- Positive, friendly, outgoing, and flexible personality.
- Willingness to adapt to and enjoy working in a different cultural environment.
Working Hours
- 40 hours per week, including teaching and office/planning work.
- Monday–Friday.
- 8 hours per day, scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Regular preschool classes generally finish around 2:00 p.m.
- Morning care and extended care may be included in the teacher’s schedule.
- Saturdays and Sundays off.
Salary
- ¥250,000–¥270,000 per month
- Annual salary: ¥3,000,000–¥3,240,000 per year, before applicable income tax and other deductions.

- 1-year or 2-year contract, renewable subject to performance, school needs, and mutual agreement

- Completion Bonus: 1-year completion: ¥30,000 / 2-year completion: ¥100,000
