I work for a manufacturer in Yokohama. I belong to the overseas sales department and come into contact with English every day.

What are your memories of attending KEC?

I was under the care of Ms.Mori from kindergarten through elementary school until graduation. Because I was exposed to English through games and rhythm, I naturally learned English, and I never had any difficulties learning English in middle school, high school, and college. I also think that it was the period that determined the direction of my life afterwards.

Another thing and this is a sad memory, but for some reason I was afraid of the foreign teacher who came to my kindergarten in the middle of the year, and I always cried…. I am still sorry for what I did….

What does “English” mean to you?

It is the best communication tool. It may be an exaggeration, but by using English, you can talk with people from all over the world, and you can also translate for people who do not speak English (Japanese) and people who do speak English (foreigners) to help them converse. I don’t think there is any other communication tool that offers such a luxury.

What are your dreams and goals for the future?

I do not know when, but I would like to travel around the world. I would like to travel around the world using only my English skills, and to converse with people from all over the world.

Message to everyone at KEC

While I was studying in Melbourne, I strongly felt “the low English proficiency of Japanese people”. Especially speaking ability. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to “speak” English from a young age, and I can say that it is thanks to everyone at KEC that I am where I am today. I will be rooting for you!
