Teacher testimonials about working for Education Network and living in Japan
On my first night in Japan I was picked up at the airport by the director of KEC and given the keys to an apartment as well as cash for my plane ticket. On the next day, and every day after that for 3 ½ years, I was welcomed into schools around Nagoya like I was a movie star. The fun, funny, and family-friendly reputation of this school has been their secret to success for 30 years. Your working duties will carry you into priceless moments – supervising Christmas shows of well-rehearsed kindergarteners, laughing your way through botanical gardens with retired grandparents – moments that you will cherish forever. I know I will.
Japan itself is safe and beautiful on a scale celebrated worldwide. Kyoto, Mt. Fuji, Tokyo, and many places are within 2 hours of Nagoya Station but in spring and fall you will want to enjoy the colorful trees in your own neighborhood. Sports, nightlife, and outdoors are plentiful, and for reading check out the Nagoya International Center and their library of 10,000 books.
Japan has a reputation for being expensive, and you won’t get rich as an English teacher, but Nagoya and Nagakute are very reasonable. The dedicated, bilingual staff can work miracles on your behalf and will become your close friends. If you are considering teaching English in Japan, this company should be near the top of your list.
